The Superior Court, Georgia’s general jurisdiction trial court, has exclusive constitutional authority over felony cases, cases regarding title to land and equity, declaratory judgments, habeas corpus, mandamus, adoptions, name changes, divorces, child custody, and child support enforcement. The South Georgia Judicial Circuit has two judges, Chief Judge Heather Lanier.

District Attorney Joe Mulholland, is responsible for prosecuting felony matters in Superior Court. The District Attorney’s Office is located at 114 S. Broad Street in Bainbridge. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, phone (229) 246-1823.

Chief Public Defender’s Tre McLendon’s office is located at 118 River Street in Bainbridge. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. until noon, and from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, phone 229-246-2877.
